Schismatoglottis Roseospatha

Schismatoglottis Roseospatha is a new and exciting species that has recently been introduced to the hobby. This plant comes from the Sarawak region of Borneo Malaysia where several varieties of Bucephalandra can be found.  In its natural environment, it can be found growing along river banks and waterfalls.  It's a rheophyte so it can withstand strong current thanks to the strong roots which are firmly rooted onto rocks and stones. In the aquarium, it can be attached to a hard surface and grown similarly to Buce or Anubias.

This plant has a striking appearance which sort of resembles a cross between an Aridarum, Anubias and Buce. The bright green leaves are narrow and pointy growing from a thin brown or yellow stem. A slight blue tint can develop in a vein shaped pattern on the center of the leaves. When grown submerged and with proper lighting, irridescent white dots can be seen throughout the leaves.
