Common Name: Homalomena Insignis

Homalomena are hardy, fast-flowing river survivors found in diverse geographical areas. They have been identified in Borneo and throughout Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific. Homalomena Insignis shows off a beautiful range of bright coral-pink, iridescent purple, and deep green colorations that provides a lovely contrast to more common aquatic plants. Homalomena's leaves are thick with a waxy sheen. These plants make wonderful accents for mid- or foreground placement. Homalomena grow submerged and emersed, and happen to be a common houseplant in some variations. It can be grown attached to hardscape or buried in a nutrient-rich substrate. To propagate, cut new growth off of the rhizome and plant directly into substrate.
