Common Name: Ludwigia Marilia

Ludwigia Marilia originates from Marilia in the Brazilian states of Sao Paulo. Currently, the exact species of Ludwigia Marilia has not yet been determined. When grown submerged, the leaves are round and can be green with hues of red and orange. Red and orange colors are intensified and concentrated in the shoot tips when grown with high light and CO2 injection. Similar to other Ludwigia species, Ludwigia Marilia can be transitioned to grow emersed above water. When grown emersed, leaves will become more compact and colors may differ.

When given the ideal environment, Ludwigia Marilia are considered fast growers. For aquascaping, it is recommended that Ludwigia Marilia be grown in the background to help with coverage and depth. Regular trimming will help keep Ludwigia Marilia compact, and these trimmings can be replanted into substrate for propagation.

Notes

  • Ludwigia Marilia can be grown both, submerged and emersed
  • Ludwigia can be very fragile. Be sure to handle this aquarium plant with care.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
  • CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth.
  • Ludwigia Marilia’s final size, coloration and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the environment. Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
