Mopani Wood

Mopani wood is a popular natural material commonly used for freshwater aquariums and other related hobbies. It is an African hardwood that unlike other popular driftwoods, is extremely dense and resistant to rot. This is a great option for aquarium hobbyists who are looking for a wood option that's much easier to sink and won't break down over time. However, like all natural driftwood, Mopani will release tannins and produce that tea-colored tint that can be reduced with consistent aquarium maintenance. 

Aside from planted tanks, Mopani is often used for terrariums and reptile tanks as well. It features a two-toned, smooth surface with gnarled textured throughout for added character and visual interest.
