Common Name: Bucephalandra Brownie Phoenix

Bucephalandra Brownie Phoenix is an easy aquarium plant that is perfect for beginners. Brownie Phoenix can be grown in both submerged aquarium conditions or added to your favorite terrarium setups as long as humidity levels are increased to prevent the plant from drying. Like other species of Buce, Brownie Phoenix is a slow-growing plant. This makes it more susceptible to algae growth on its leaves, so it should be placed in a slightly shaded area when kept in aquarium conditions.

Bucephalandra are known and loved for their color display. To achieve optimal color, CO2 injection, moderate lighting, quality aquarium plant fertilizer and good maintenance habits are highly recommended. New growth can be seen sprouting from the main rhizome. Bucephalandra Brownie Phoenix can be attached directly to your hardscape, but it is important to ensure the rhizome is not buried or suffocated to prevent the plant from dying off.

Notes:

  • Bucephalandra is an epiphytic aquarium plant so it can be attached to aquarium hardscape.
  • Do not plant Bucephalandra in substrate and cover the rhizome. This will cause it to melt and rot.
  • Bucephalandra’s final size, coloration and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the aquarium Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
  • Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium.
  • Remove tissue culture gel before planting.  Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
