Aquario Neo CO2 - DIY CO2 Kit
If you have been wanting to try your hand at high-tech plants but feel completely intimidated by massive gas cylinders, heavy regulators, and confusing electronic solenoids, the Aquario Neo DIY CO₂ Kit is exactly what you are looking for. This all-in-one kit uses a natural, proven bio-fermentation concept to generate a steady stream of carbon dioxide for up to 50–60 days per round.
Key Features & Benefits
- An all-in-one complete starter ecosystem includes the specialized bottle, bio-powders, tubing, and an authentic Neo diffuser right out of the box.
- Natural yeast-driven bio-fermentation consistently generates a stable supply of essential plant nutrients for up to 50–60 days.
- An innovative, thick gel-matrix formula ensures a smooth, slow-release gas output that outperforms unpredictable, old-school DIY sugar recipes.
- The infinitely reusable main reaction bottle can be easily refreshed and reset using the budget-friendly Aquario Neo CO₂ Refill Packs.
Product Specifications
- Product Type: Natural Bio-Fermentation Generator Kit
- Best Suited For: Aquariums ranging from 10 to 30 gallons.
- Tank Coverage: Use 1 bottle for every 20 gallons of water volume. For larger layouts, run multiple bottles concurrently.
- Dosing Life: Approximately 50 to 60 days (Highly dependent on room temperature)
- Optimal Temperature Range: 68°F to 86°C (Higher ambient temperatures cause the biological reaction to speed up, which increases daily output but shortens the total 60-day lifespan).
- System Adjustability: Non-adjustable passive flow. Do not use with solenoids, needle valves, or toggle taps, as pressure buildup will damage the bottle.
What’s in the Box?

Step-by-Step Activation & Maintenance Guide
-
Add Water & Shake: Pour 300ml of warm water (around 30°C / 86°F—roughly a 50/50 mix of boiling water and tap water) straight into the bottle with the gel powder. Cap it tight and shake it vigorously at least 100 times until it is thoroughly mixed.
- Wait 24 Hours: Let the bottle sit completely undisturbed for 24 hours. The mixture will cool down and solidify into a thick, clear gel-like consistency at the bottom of the container.
- Add the Bio Pack: Open the bottle and pour in 1 packet of NEO CO₂ Bio Powder along with 1 cup (about 200ml) of room-temperature water. Twist the specialized reaction cap onto the bottle. Do not shake the bottle during this step.
- Hook Up & Diffuse: Connect one end of your flexible tubing to the bottle's reaction cap and the other end directly to your Neo Diffuser. Mount the diffuser low inside your tank using the suction cups and watch your plants begin to bubble!
- Empty & Repeat: When your gas output slows to a crawl or stops, pour out only the top liquid layer. Put in a Aquario Neo CO₂ Refill Pack and another cup of room-temperature water to activate the next layer. Repeat this cycle until the bottom gel matrix is entirely consumed!
Important Safety Guidelines
- Because this biological process runs 24/7 and cannot be turned off at night, using it on tanks smaller than 10 gallons can risk over-gassing your livestock when the lights are off. If you use this kit on a nano setup, we highly recommend running a small air pump at night, or positioning your filter output to create gentle surface agitation to keep oxygen levels balanced!
- Never tilt, drop, or shake the bottle while it is actively running. This keeps the acidic fermentation fluid from traveling up the airline and accidentally spilling into your display tank.
- If any reaction liquid accidentally leaks into your aquarium, don't panic! It is mostly a harmless, minor organic alcohol byproduct, but it can cause a temporary drop in oxygen. Simply perform a swift 30% to 50% water change and run an air pump or adjust your filter output to create heavy surface agitation to clear it up instantly.
- Wipe away any excess gel material from the inner rim of the bottleneck during your first setup. This prevents debris buildup from jamming your gas ports over time.
