Product Overview
The Qanvee Fluidized Moving Bed Filter is an air-driven biological filtration system engineered to maximize nitrifying bacterial colonies in freshwater aquariums and shrimp tanks. Powered by an internal air stone, this filter keeps self-cleaning bio media continuously suspended and tumbling within the chamber. The continuous friction rubs off dead or weak bacterial film, allowing only the most robust, active nitrifying bacteria to colonize the media surface.
Setup Requirement: Air pump and standard 3/16" airline tubing sold separately.

1. Why is the biological media only filled halfway in the filter chamber?
The media chamber is intentionally filled 50% full to provide enough open volume for the air stone currents to fluidize and tumble the media beads freely without jamming.
2. How do I maintain the Qanvee Fluidized Bed Filter?
Remove and squeeze out the bottom intake sponge in a bucket of drained tank water during routine water changes. The moving bio media inside the chamber is self-cleaning and does not require manual scrubbing.
3. Why is my new fluidized media floating at the top and not tumbling?
New biological media beads often take a few days to build a beneficial biofilm layer and absorb water. Once fully saturated, the media will drop slightly and begin tumbling freely in the air currents.
