Pacific Driftwood brings a mature, untamed character to the planted tank, making it the ultimate choice if you are searching for natural, rugged aquarium driftwood. It’s the rebellious cousin to Malaysian wood, defined by deep knots, weathered tangles, and an aged, river‑worn look. That lived‑in texture makes it ideal for hardscapes that should read like century‑old timber hauled down a fast river. Instead of clean shapes, it offers a chaotic network of twists and crags that demand attention. Use it to build dramatic, wind‑swept river roots or a wild, overgrown jungle layout. Each piece is a unique puzzle of textured paths and hollowed grooves that really branch out your layout.
Product Features & Benefits
- Pacific Wood features a highly textured surface with natural imperfections that provide a realistic, aged look.
- The unique knots and tangles in each piece provide excellent hiding spots for fry and shrimp, while offering plenty of surface area for beneficial bacteria and biofilm to flourish.
- Because it offers more "twist" than standard logs but more "bulk" than Spiderwood, it is the ultimate middle-ground for a professional planted aquarium hardscape.

Preparation & Care
Pacific Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
- The Floating Phase: Unlike Malaysian wood, Pacific Driftwood is buoyant. It will float initially. To keep it from bobbing like a cork, we recommend soaking it thoroughly or boiling it. A large stone or heavy decor may be placed on top to ensure a non-waterlogged piece of wood stays submerged.
- Tannin Management: This wood will release natural tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer the crystal-clear look, boil the wood for 1–2 hours or soak it in a separate container until the water runs clear. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag
Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.

Great Products from a Great Company
"The quality of the product is great. I would say the selection is a little off. I ordered a 3 pack of pacific wood and 1 pacific driftwood stump. It looked more like I received 4 pacific wood but the one was tagged as a stump so I’m not saying I didn’t receive what I ordered, I was just expecting something more robust for a stump. However, I am new to aquascaping so it might just be me. Other than that, fantastic ordering process and packing and shipping was very well done. I’ll definitely be ordering my tanks and other products from Buce Plant!"
I ordered 3 medium pieces
"I ordered 3 medium pieces -- it was a good variety with interesting shapes!"

Just The Right Size For A Nano Tank!
"I ordered a single piece of extra small Pacific wood not knowing what size it would actually be. I have a nano tank and didn’t want anything too big. They actually sent me 2 small pieces, each about 3 inches long. I was able to glue them together and put an Anubias on it. It looks great!! Just the right size."
Pacific wood - 5 pack, small
"Bought a five pack of the small Pacific driftwood recently. 4 out of the 5 pieces sunk immediately, which is great. The color and texture of the wood blend wonderfully with the wood existing in the aquarium. The size and shape were also perfect in my 55 gallon setup."
"The random pieces sent to me were awesome! They were bigger than I expected as well. These are labeled as small, but they seem more medium sized to me; no complaints! The peices were also very nice aestheically. I was able to set up a 9 gal 45u woth 2 pieces to spare."
Great small to medium size
"Great small to medium size but can be large for nano tanks. It arrives with a much darker color then showed on the listing"
