These Malaysian Driftwood Stumps are the ultimate foundation piece for nano-tanks and detailed foreground scaping. Unlike long, branching driftwood pieces, these stumps offer a dense, blocky silhouette that mimics the base of an ancient submerged tree. If you are looking for an aquarium wood that provides immediate stability and a "thick" organic feel without taking up too much vertical space, these miniature stumps are the choice for an aquarium hardscape.

Product Features & Benefits

  • The compact, stump shape makes this an ideal aquarium hardscape anchor. It provides a heavy, low-profile look that works perfectly at the front of your layout.
  • The rugged, dark surface is a premium substrate for attaching Moss, Anubias Nana Petite, or Bucephalandra. You can easily turn this stump into a lush, green "island" in your planted aquarium hardscape.
  • These stumps provide a dense surface for beneficial bacteria and biofilm to flourish, creating a natural foraging ground for shrimp and grazing fish.

Size Specifications

Photos provided are a representation of what you will receive. This is a natural aquarium hardscape product; please expect variations in shape, weight, and character.

  • Dimensions: 2 - 5 inches are a rough estimate and may vary
  • Custom Selection: Need a specific shape? Please make a note at checkout, and our fulfillment team will do their best to find the perfect piece for your vision.

Preparation & Care

Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.

  1. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
  2. Tannin Management: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag

Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.

    Just what I wanted!

"Little cute stump! Got the extra small for my 5 gallon to fill in the space. Being so small it does float, so I had to anchor it down for the time being, but very satisfied with it!"
