The Assorted Bucephalandra Basket is the ultimate solution for hobbyists seeking variety, quality, and quantity for large-scale aquascaping projects. Each basket is approximately 10" x 13" in size and contains a diverse, random assortment of small to medium-sized specimens, including healthy mini clumps and hardy rhizomes of various species. Highly versatile, these assorted plants can be grown submerged or emersed, usually attached to hardscape such as driftwood or rocks rather than being buried in traditional aquarium substrate. This is a value pack for filling the midground of freshwater aquascapes, terrariums, or paludariums, where the established plants will eventually reveal a stunning tapestry of reds, blues, and purples within your planted tank.

Please note that all baskets contain a mix of different species in mini clumps and plant sizes. After the buce is planted and establishes in your tank, new leaf growth can display beautiful reds, blues, and purples. Bucephalandra included in the assorted basket cannot be customized. Basket container is not included.

Key Features & Notes

  • These baskets are designed to provide massive coverage at a reduced price point, making them the most cost-effective way to heavily plant a new setup.
  • Every basket is a unique "mystery" assortment of Bornean flora, offering a natural, wild look with varying leaf shapes and textures.
  • These bulk portions are only available during special occasions and in strictly limited quantities; once they are gone, they may not return for months.
  • While the initial specimens are assorted "workhorse" portions, they will develop premium iridescent colors and robust foliage once they acclimate to your specific water parameters.

Important Disclaimer: Our Bucephalandra baskets contain healthy, small clumps, leftover portions, and rhizomes of assorted species, perfect for filling out your aquascape. These plants are not top-grade specimens, which is reflected in the price, but they will grow and thrive once established, displaying vibrant colors. Due to the variety, species cannot be identified or customized, making each basket a unique assortment.

Care Tips & Preparation

  • Bucephalandra is an epiphytic plant that should be attached to rocks or driftwood. Never bury the rhizome in substrate, as this will cause the plant to rot and melt.
  • Avoid making drastic changes to your water parameters or lighting. Unstable conditions are the primary cause of leaf melt in new specimens.
  • While this plant is hardy and low-maintenance, CO2 injection will yield much faster growth. We recommend researching your specific water chemistry to ensure your plant thrives.
  • Final size and coloration depend entirely on your specific aquarium conditions. Please note that photos are a representation, and individual plants may vary.
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.

Buce fam is awesome 😎

"I had some issue with the original order but team Buce customer support swooped in, understood and confirmed what was going on and quick my stepped into action to fix it. The final product I received was really good 👍🏼 I am very happy with this product and I look forward to buying other plants when the stock becomes available."

Not for me

"I'm a bit torn on this purchase. On one had, yes, you get an insane amount of buce for price, just an absolute mess of buce. But on the other hand, it's not very great quality and it was loaded with pond-snails. Unfortunately it started as a half-dead mass of plant-matter in my tank and quickly became a full-dead mass of plant matter, ended up having to pull all of it and toss it. For the right person I think this package would work great, but it just wasn't for me. If I knew ahead of time that I could get 20 Potted Buce for about the same price I would've just done that instead, the quality I've gotten from their potted plants have always been top-notch."

Highly Recommended!

"When I had received the package, they came in a huge bag and when I open them up and clean them off, all of the plants were flawless and beautiful. There was many more than expected. And this was by far the largest package of Buce ive ever received. It was well worth it."

Aiden (5/5)

"Very large amount of plants. Very large amount of rot. Maybe a quarter of it was healthy and happy. Still a good amount but not really worth the price."

So many lovely plants! I

"So many lovely plants! I was surprised by how many different varieties of bucephalandra were in this basket. All healthy and sizable. I was able to attach to a screen and make a living background for my 9 gallon Fluval Flex that houses my Betta. I also had plenty of plants to share with my 90 gallon Discus tank and my 48 gallon community tank! A great buy!!"

Expectations Exceeded

"Almost 0 melt or rot, and so much buce that I felt glutinous. Im growing out my basket for a tank I’ll be setting up in the future, after taking it out of the bag and laying it out I was honestly shocked. Couldn’t be happier:)"

1* for basket, 5 stars for Buce customer service

"Basket came in a very rough shape, stems were partly mushy, and a lot of leaves have been fallen off. I wrote to Buce suggesting that the basket must have been packet a few days before it was shipped, because other plants from that order came in beautifully healthy. I was told that the plants had a quality control and was suggested to wait a couple of weeks to see if plants died off so I could get a refund. Well, that would have worked possibly, had I not planned this shipment of Buce to be planted in my 2 year old well established seasoned shrimp colony, where shrimps would have picked on any decaying matter leaving nothing to show. Buce customer service offered 50% off store credit which I accepted but now highly regret as at this point I probably have 10% of the entire basket still hanging on to its thread of life. Buce is a tough plant, and I am decently experienced with planted tanks, but I am never going to buy a whole basket, as it feel that the sale on these baskets are for that exact reason - they are trying to get rid of a subpar quality plants. Wish I could go back and get a DOA refund, as first customer service rep suggested after waiting for 2 weeks, but oh well. Lesson learned."
