Common Name: Bucephalandra Nanga Pinoh

Bucephalandra Nanga Pinoh features narrow, elongated leaves with subtle ruffled edges and a deep green hue that can take on a bluish sheen under aquarium lighting. Like other Buce varieties, it’s a slow grower that thrives in low to moderate light and doesn’t require CO₂ to do well. This hardy plant can be easily attached to driftwood, stones, or other aquarium decor using glue or thread. Over time, it develops dense clusters of leaves, adding rich texture and depth to any aquascape.

Bucephalandra are known and loved for their color display. To achieve optimal color, CO2 injection, moderate lighting, quality aquarium plant fertilizer and good maintenance habits are highly recommended. New growth can be seen sprouting from the main rhizome. When planting buce, it is important to ensure the rhizome is not buried or suffocated to prevent the plant from dying off.

Notes:

  • Bucephalandra is an epiphytic aquarium plant so it can be attached to aquarium hardscape.
  • Do not plant Bucephalandra in substrate and cover the rhizome. This will cause it to melt and rot.
  • Bucephalandra’s final size, coloration and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the aquarium Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
  • Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium.
  • Remove tissue culture gel before planting.  Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
