Common Name: Vesicularia Sp Anchor Moss, Anchor Moss

Anchor Moss is a very densely ramified and bushy moss, with a soft and delicate texture. Its stems are broad as well as dense, and shoot out in nearly right angles. It attaches well to the substrate, logs, or rocks, and provides a pine-tree-like, “Christmasy” effect. The moss grows slowly, but has a wide range of light tolerance. The greater the light, the darker Anchor Moss will grow.

It can grow emerged, and in an aquarium is great in the foreground or midground to provide compact softness, and as mentioned, an appearance similar to a Christmas pine tree, especially in smaller tanks. As one of the lighter colored green aquarium mosses, it tends to brightly stand out and add contrast to the brown and grey surfaces it grows on.
