Notes:

  • Java Fern is an epiphytic aquarium plant. This means it can grow fine when attached to aquascaping hardscape like driftwood and stones.
  • Java Fern will propagate through its leaves. Dots on the underside of its leaves are normal and not a cause for concern.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.

  • Burying the rhizome will cause the plant to die
  • CO2 injection will yield better growth.

"What I received was single leaves on tiny rhizome chopped pieces (all 8 pots I ordered). They have no chance to survive. This is the 2nd time I receive java ferns chopped that way (from a different supplier) and they didn't survive either, while I never had issue growing java fern before!"

"Got 5 pots of Java Fern Trident ranging in size from 3-8 inch leaves and lots of healthy rhyzomes! Overall, very happy and they look great and already 'grown in'. Only issue was having a CO2 part I ordered placed directly onto the leaves of the plants in the same box. . . bent and damaged a few of the plants. But they seem to be recovering."
