Engineered to enhance surface skimming functionality, this component expands internal air space by 65% compared to the original design, significantly increasing surface film reduction and gas exchange. By breaking surface scum into micro-particles that are pulled into the main filter intake for biological decomposition, it keeps your water surface crystal clear.

"Shrimp can still make their way through but you need to allow flow to use this properly so making the holes any smaller wouldn't skim properly. They go right back into the tank anyways. It did save a Chili Rasbora and probably more when I wasn't looking. The original skimmer cost me a couple otos because they couldn't exit at the bend but since using this, nothing fish related has been able to get in."

"Very pleased. I do think it works better than the original skimmer, which, though great, had some minor flaws. Wider opening, floats better, will probably become clogged less easily, and the nested inflow waterfall grooves increase and smooth out water ingress - one way to look at it is that a lower filter flow rate still yields good skimming action. Minor flaws aside, Aquario hasn’t disappointed me yet, and I would like to try all of their products eventually."
