"I figured since it claims to be somewhat acidic it would buffer the parameters lower so I could keep certain fish but it more or less stayed the same. Other than using ro or distilled water, or using chemicals, it's more difficult to soften water than it is to harden it."

"This is great media for your filter. I really like the shape and all the different sizes pores in it. It is nice they add a small packet of bacteria to add to it to jump start your system. Fairly light as well. Just don’t rinse to much or it clouds the water."
