- Submerge the entire diffuser in clean water for 30 minutes before connecting it to your gas line. This primes the micro-pores of the ceramic membrane, ensuring it produces a fine mist instantly on startup rather than large, wasteful bubbles.
- Over time, natural organic film or algae can accumulate on the ceramic surface, causing the bubbles to grow larger. When this happens, simply soak the diffuser in standard household bleach for 10 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and a generous dose of aquarium water conditioner to completely neutralize any residual bleach before placing it back in your tank.
