Common Name: Bucephalandra Artemis

Bucephalandra ‘Artemis’ is a striking and relatively rare aquatic plant, prized in the aquascaping hobby for its unique dark green tones with subtle iridescent highlights. Its palm tree-like leaves are small, elongated, and slightly wavy, often showing a silvery sheen when grown in moderate to high light, giving the foreground or midground a touch of “glow” in the planted tank.

Like most Buce, it grows slowly and prefers being attached to hardscape like driftwood or rocks rather than being planted directly in substrate. It benefits from stable water parameters, and while Bucephalandra doesn’t demand CO2 injection and can thrive in low-tech aquariums, adding it can encourage faster growth and more vibrant coloration.

Notes:

  • Bucephalandra is an epiphytic aquarium plant, and prefers to be attached to aquarium hardscape.
  • Do not cover the rhizome when planting the Bucephalandra in substrate. This will cause melt and rot.
  • Please be sure to remove this plant from its pot. Remove the rockwool surrounding the roots and attach it to the hardscape. For instructions on how to properly prep "potted" aquarium plants, click here.
  • Bucephalandra’s final size, coloration, and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the aquarium.
  • Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters can result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
  • CO2 injection will yield better growth.
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
