Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo' on Stainless Steel
Common Name: Monte Carlo
Micranthemum ‘Monte Carlo” originates from Argentina, serving as an excellent aquatic foreground plant. When provided with ample lighting and nutrients, Monte Carlo forms a lush green carpet with small, rounded leaves that are bright green in color. Micranthemum Monte Carlo is a popular carpet plant that resembles Hemianthus Callitrichoides (HC/Dwarf Baby Tears), but is typically easier to cultivate.
To maintain dense, low growth, moderate to high lighting and CO2 injection are essential. Vertical growth and yellowing leaves may indicate lack of lighting and/or nutrient deficiency, while thinning leaves can hint that there is lack of CO2. Once established and happy, Monte Carlo requires regular trimming. Adaptable to submerged or emersed conditions, Monte Carlo thrives in dry start aquariums and Wabi Kusa setups. Its small size and delicate roots can be challenging to plant, making this listing perfect for support until the plant forms a root system.
