Product Overview

If you have ever accidentally taken a mouthful of fish tank water while trying to start a siphon manually, we have good news: those days are officially over! The Qanvee Aquarium Gravel Vacuum initiates water changes instantly, eliminating the unpleasant mouth-siphoning gamble. Crafted from heavy-duty, BPA-free materials, this aquarium siphon and gravel cleaner features a convenient hand-pump starter, an extended rigid intake tube to reach deep substrate beds, and a sturdy kink-resistant hose that lets you vacuum debris out of your aquascape without disturbing plant roots or kicking up aquasoil dust.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Easy Siphon Hand-Pump: Simply squeeze the built-in pump priming bulb a few times to start a rapid, continuous water flow.
  • Substrate-Safe Flow Control: Precise siphon flow allows you to lift fish waste, uneaten food, and loose debris from the substrate line without sucking up lightweight aquasoil or uprooting delicate foreground carpeting plants.
  • BPA-Free Durable Construction: Made from high-impact, non-toxic plastics designed to resist cracking, degradation, and chemical leaching over years of routine maintenance.

Care & Maintenance Instructions

  • Rinse the intake pipe, hand pump, and drain hose thoroughly with fresh tap water immediately after completing water changes.
  • Hang vertically to drain and allow all components to dry completely before storing to prevent mold, mildew, and cross-contamination between tanks.
  • Inspect the internal intake strainer regularly to clear out trapped plant leaves, moss scraps, or stray snail shells that could restrict siphon flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will this gravel vacuum suck up my aquasoil or carpet plants?

No, provided you use proper technique. The rigid intake cylinder is wide enough to reduce water velocity at the tip. Hover the tube just above your aquasoil or carpeting plants (like Monte Carlo or Glossostigma) to vacuum up organic detritus without lifting the soil pellets themselves.

2. Can I use this siphon in tanks with tiny dwarf shrimp or fish fry?

We recommend placing a small piece of mesh or a nylon stocking over the intake nozzle if you have micro-fauna or newly hatched shrimp fry in the tank to prevent accidental siphon intake.

Mic Drop

"I don't think I've ever been so excited about a siphon hose in all my life. I've had many and this one is the cat's meow. Perfect for nano aquariums. Has a super smooth draw and when you break the siphon it's almost as smooth as neither will disturb the tank. Comes with a little suction cup holder if you want to walk away from the tank for a minute. It will take the siphon several minutes to empty a 5 gallon tank to put everything in perspective. So not too fast. If you need a siphon for nano aquarium, this will be your best friend."

Tried many

"I tried different vacuums including the python and this is so much better . I really like that you can change the length of pipe easily for talkers or shorter aquariums and the pump works great . I just disconnect it and turn it then place it back in the hose and then can reverse the flow . This is an excellent product"

Christina (5/5)

Fantastic first experience

"The vacuum works great for water changes. Hand pumping the water out through the siphon is easy, I even use it with the pump flipped around to carefully put water back in my tank. I skipped the instructions as the assembly was straight forward 🤣"

Robert B. (5/5)

"I’ve spent tons of money on so many different water changing devices and none of them worked well. This one is the exception, I love it! So easy to start the syphon with the hand pump and the strength is just enough to vacuum a bit without destroying everything around it."

Q&A

Does the S6 (Clip-on) have the priming bulb at the top connected to the plastic piece that clamps to the tank or is it an inline priming bulb at the end of the hose?
