Common Name: Labisia Sp Turtle Back

Labisia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Primulaceae. Labisia Sp Turtle Back is still relatively difficult to obtain and is easily recognized for its stunning foliage. With high contrast colors, distinct pattern and prominent venation, Labisia Sp Turtle Back is a popular choice for use in a terrarium or vivarium. This species thrives in high humidity environments and should be kept in at least 70% humidity as a minimum. Final form and growth will vary depending on the environment in which they are kept.

Signs humidity levels are too low may appear in the form of browning edges. Labisia typically grows fairly large so we recommend having a sizeable setup for this plant.

Notes:

  • Labisia species are terrestrial plants and being submerged will result in death of the plants.
  • Plants may grow differently depending on the environment in which they are grown in.
  • Additional research should be done to provide optimum growing conditions for the plant to thrive.
  • You will receive a cutting with 2-4 leaves.
  • Photos are a representation of what you will receive. Size, shape and color may vary as this is a live plant.

Looks great!

"Very healthy and great color. I think it had 4 leaves and all in good shape, roots look good! Just put in the paladarium so time will tell now!"

Not sure about my purchase. Plants just do not look like they are going to make it! :((

"Hello everyone, I am not sure how to “grtade” my experience from a plant buying perspective as of yet. Plants arrived “live,” but have only look worse and worse as time goes by. From all of the plants I purchased; Labisia (rated here), Java fern, Java moss, Crhistmass moss, and Fittonia, the only ones who seem hat they are going to make it are the mosses. The rest are just withering and withering. It took me less than 2 hours to place them in my terranium which has fresh soil and a Twinstar EA series fullm spctrum LED. All of my pre-existing plants are doing fantastic, save the the recently purchased (again other than the mosses). I am going to give it another week, and see how they do. But if they die on me, I think I will continue to make my urchaes locally at HD, Lowes, and other businesses instead of mail ordering plants. All shared, I am also a newbie at terrariums, so it could be me. However, I’ve not had any other locally purchased plant die on me thus far."
