Common Name: Ruby Red Club Moss, Red Spike Moss

Selaginella Erythropus Ruby Red is a beautiful choice for terrarium-like setups and vivariums. Ruby Red Moss is a popular plant due to the unique coloration of its foliage. Under optimal conditions the underside will be a ruby red color, contrasting nicely with the green to dark green surface coloration. Unlike other Selaginella species, Ruby Red is a slow grower, preferring partial shade and high humidity. Under the right conditions, Red Club Moss is a easy plant to care for and a great way to add a pop of color to any setup.

Q&A

Does this need a specific tempature, can it be planted slightly submerged in water in a paludarium, can this be grown in a snakes water bowl
Hi Devin, Thank you for your question! The Selaginella Erythropus Ruby Red Club Moss typically thrives in warm and humid environments with temperatures within 65–80°F. It can tolerate being slightly submerged at its base or roots. This plant does best in areas where the soil remains consistently moist but not waterlogged. It would not do well grown in a snakes water bowl due to the constant submersion or disturbance caused by the snake itself. We hope this helps! Best regards, Team Buce Plant
Could this be in a terrarium with a jewel orchid?
Hi Ty, Thank you for reaching out to us. Ruby Red Club Moss will do extremely well in a terrarium environment. They thrive with high humid and bright indirect light.
