Common Name: AR Rosaefolia, Alternanthera Rosaefolia

Alternanthera Rosaefolia is a variant of Alternanthera Reineckii that is sometimes referenced as Magenta Water Hedge. Originating from South America, Alternanthera Rosaefolia is commonly used for Dutch-style aquariums and loved for its bright and vibrant red colors. AR Rosaefolia grows best with medium lighting, a regular fertilizing routine, and CO2 injection. It can be grown emersed or submerged. It is advisable to plant Alternanthera in the mid to background areas of a planted tank due to its overall size and height.

Notes:

  • Alternanthera species provide good coverage for skittish species. This genus is relatively easier for beginners who are in search of colored aquarium plants.
  • Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state-of-the-art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium.
  • Remove tissue culture gel before planting.  Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in the melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.

  • CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth.
