Spiderwood is known for its wild, multi‑branching shape that instantly adds depth and personality to any aquarium hardscape. This Nano version is specifically selected for those twisting tangles and sculptural turns that fit perfectly into smaller tanks. Whether you stand it upright, lay it on its side, or angle it, each orientation creates a fresh visual story. It’s no surprise that Spiderwood has become one of our favorite driftwood choices here at Buce Plant HQ.

Product Features and Benefits

  • Wild, Twisting Form: The complex network of branches adds immediate depth and energy to your aquarium hardscape without overwhelming the tank.
  • Compact Impact: Sized specifically for nano-setups, these pieces allow you to easily maneuver pieces around.
  • Epiphyte Paradise: The spindly limbs are ideal for anchoring Mosses, Bucephalandra, or Anubias Nana Petite. Wrapping these branches in green creates a stunning, aged "root" look.
  • Shrimp Playground: The numerous nooks and crannies provide essential hiding spots and foraging surfaces for shrimp and fry, encouraging natural behavior.

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.

  1. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
  2. The Floating Phase: It will float initially. We recommend soaking it thoroughly or boiling it. A large stone or heavy decor may be placed on top to ensure a non-waterlogged piece of wood stays submerged.
  3. The "White Fuzz" Phase: It is common for a harmless white biofilm to appear on Spiderwood shortly after it's submerged. Don't panic! Your shrimp and snails will think it’s a five-star buffet. It will eventually disappear on its own.
  4. Tannin Management: Spiderwood releases fewer tannins than other varieties, but a quick 1-hour boil will still help it sink faster and keep your water crystal clear.

Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1-2 hours to help release tannins.
