Preparation and Care
A little extra prep goes a long way in maintaining its stunning appearance.
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
- Tannin Management: This wood will release natural tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer the crystal-clear look, boil the wood for 1–2 hours or soak it in a separate container until the water runs clear. - Placement: Once prepped, simply place the wood into your layout. Since it’s denser than a bad dad joke, it should settle into your substrate immediately.
Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.
