Black Lava Rock Cave

Created by the rapid cooling of magma, Black Lava Rock is an extremely porous natural stone that is dark black in color and remarkably lightweight. Its surface area serves as a massive biological filter, providing ample space for beneficial nitrifying bacteria to colonize and improve the overall health of the aquarium. These rocks are also suitable for non-aquarium use and will work beautifully as a structured accent in terrariums, paludariums, or similar planted enclosures.

**These pieces will have a predrilled cave, which provides the ideal environment for small cave-dwelling animals such as crayfish and plecostomus. Mix and match these pieces with regular Black Lava Rock to create your dream scape.

Notes:

• Stones average the size of a softball with pre-drilled caves averaging about 1-2" in width.
• We recommend rinsing stones thoroughly before use to remove any natural dust or sediment.
• Stone coloration darkens when wet.

Important: This stone is best suited for freshwater shrimp, nano fish, or small fry. If you have larger, curious fish or other fauna (such as a betta fish) that may try to explore such small crevices, there is a risk they may get caught or stuck in the cave. Please be mindful of this before placing it in your aquarium.
