Blistered Driftwood Sticks are the perfect choice for the aquascaper who wants to step outside the standard look of Malaysian or Spiderwood. Characterized by their long, straight profiles and a distinctive bumpy bark texture, these sticks offer an unusual aesthetic for a driftwood aquarium. Alternatively, depending on the tank size, they can be placed at the base for a fallen trunk appearance.

Product Features and Benefits

  • The signature bumpy surface of this aquarium wood creates a rugged, weathered look that mimics ancient, submerged timber. It’s a standout choice for those who appreciate rustic hardscape.
  • Because these pieces are relatively straight, they are ideal for recreating a forest look.
  • These sticks are a "blank canvas" for the creative hobbyist. Their uniform yet textured shape makes them easy to stack, lean, or cluster together to create complex structures.

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.

  1. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
  2. The Floating Phase: It will float initially. We recommend soaking it thoroughly or boiling it. A large stone or heavy decor may be placed on top to ensure a non-waterlogged piece of wood stays submerged.
  3. Tannin Management: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag

Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.
