Blistered Driftwood Sticks
Blistered Driftwood Sticks are the perfect choice for the aquascaper who wants to step outside the standard look of Malaysian or Spiderwood. Characterized by their long, straight profiles and a distinctive bumpy bark texture, these sticks offer an unusual aesthetic for a driftwood aquarium. Alternatively, depending on the tank size, they can be placed at the base for a fallen trunk appearance.
Product Features and Benefits
- The signature bumpy surface of this aquarium wood creates a rugged, weathered look that mimics ancient, submerged timber. It’s a standout choice for those who appreciate rustic hardscape.
- Because these pieces are relatively straight, they are ideal for recreating a forest look.
- These sticks are a "blank canvas" for the creative hobbyist. Their uniform yet textured shape makes them easy to stack, lean, or cluster together to create complex structures.

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
- The Floating Phase: It will float initially. We recommend soaking it thoroughly or boiling it. A large stone or heavy decor may be placed on top to ensure a non-waterlogged piece of wood stays submerged.
- Tannin Management: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag
Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.
