Driftwood Stump (Extra Extra Small)
These Malaysian Driftwood Stumps are the ultimate foundation piece for nano-tanks and detailed foreground scaping. Unlike long, branching pieces, these stumps offer a dense, blocky silhouette that mimics the base of an ancient submerged tree. If you are looking for an aquarium wood that provides immediate stability and a "thick" organic feel without taking up too much vertical space, these miniature stumps are the choice for an aquarium hardscape.
Product Features and Benefits
- Foreground Foundation: The compact, stump shape makes this an ideal aquarium hardscape anchor. It provides a heavy, low-profile look that works perfectly at the front of your layout.
- Moss & Epiphyte Hub: The rugged, dark surface is a premium substrate for attaching Moss, Anubias Nana Petite, or Bucephalandra. You can easily turn this stump into a lush, green "island" in your planted aquarium hardscape.
- Natural Biofilm Growth: These stumps provide a dense surface for beneficial bacteria and biofilm to flourish, creating a natural foraging ground for shrimp and grazing fish.

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
- Tannin Management: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag
Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.
