"They're filters, so there's not much to say positively or negatively. From what I can tell, you probably shouldn't discard them so frequently, as that's where beneficial bacteria form. If it's start breaking apart, then maybe yeah. Otherwise, the infrequent rinse of the cartridge when the water quality lowers should be fine. Keep one or two cartridges at stand by. (I'm a noob though, so take my advise at your own discretion)."
