Hemianthus Callitrichoides aka Dwarf Baby Tears or simply HC, is the epitome of carpet plants. This is one of the smallest aquatic plants available and just the right flora for creating that lush foreground seen in many stunning aquascapes. When grown in Iwagumi layouts, the vast fields of green can have a captivating effect on any audience.
This plant can grow submerged or emersed in dry start aquariums and Wabi Kusa. Because this plant is small with tiny roots, it can prove difficult to keep planted into the substrate. In this case, dry start can help by allowing time for the roots to anchor into the substrate before flooding the tank.
Although some have had success growing HC in smaller tanks using liquid carbon such as Excel, this species requires Co2 injection to truly thrive. It can be quite difficult to grow lush, thick carpets for sustained periods of time without Co2, and fertilization is recommended. To maintain a nice foreground
Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.

My first order arrived damaged from shipping (not their fault), but they promptly sent me replacement plants. The plants came in a very healthy condition and are doing will in my new scape.
It was my first time ordering plants from buceplant and my expectations were pretty high. Unfortunately my tissue cultured baby tears came slightly yellowish. Knowing with baby tears will bounce back it wasn’t a big issue. However, I did order a second time and it came in better shape.
As I've come to expect from Buce Plant. Tissue culture was a massive portion and very healthy. Enough to plant an 8" cube and set up 2 shoe box sized emersed containers. Plants are already filling in at an extraordinary rate.
So, I planted these in UNS Controsoil Black Fine Grade 3 days ago. They are already reaching horizontally. I bought 3. Gonna add the other tonight. They are pearling up, and the controsoil is so easy to plant in. Highly recommend.
Bought 2 tissue cultures of dwarf baby tears and they’re the healthiest I have seen. The way they keep these plants as healthy as they are is incredible and intriguing. I hope I do them justice and propagate them well. Buceplant.com is my go to and it will always be for my aquascaping addiction.
