Does this get planted in the substrate or glued to rocks or driftood?

It is a rooted plant, and its roots should be buried in the substrate to anchor it in place. Unlike some epiphytic plants, Lagenandra meeboldii 'Red' doesn't necessarily need to be attached to rocks or driftwood. When planting in the substrate, make sure to provide it with a nutrient-rich substrate, as Lagenandra species generally benefit from a substrate that contains essential nutrients for their growth. Does this plant need Co2? I purchased a portion of this and split it, half in my aquarium and half in an emersed setup. Both have the same amount of light and the same substrate. The aquarium has more ferts but no Co2. The one in the emersed setup has been growing really good and looks very healthy with no leaves dying. However, the one in the aquarium all but died off with new growth coming every now and then but regularly having leaves melt off until there was nothing left. The one in the emersed setup has a lot of roots and the one in the aquarium had very few. The only thing I can think was the problem is Co2, but I wasn't sure since the description says that Co2 is "Not necessary" for this plant?

Hi there! We have grown this plant without CO2 and haven't experienced any issues or received notice from fellow hobbyists. Most plants will always do better with CO2 injection but we recommend doing what works for your setup.
