Although it can grow in lower light, the leaves tend to be drabber and will turn bronze colored. This plant can send leaves all the way to the surface like other water lilies.

"This plant came in so small, and I knew that was going to happen. I have a 75-gallon with builders' sand and have only put in root tabs. It has been around 3-4 months since I got them, and they are doing unbeliabley good it is growing like crazy and will hit the surface soon in the next couple of months. My advice is to be patient and wait, as you are supposed to act when you make a fish tank. Those people have not learned anything about fishtanks i will keep buying from this company because of how good they are. Remember all the plants in these pictures i bought only one of and they all have grown like crazy."

"I had one of these I got in bulb form in a 29 gallon that was amazing. I've purchased more of these as bulbs and more than half of them don't end up being plants. This time, I decided to skip the bulb thing and go right to a plant. That worked pretty well. As other reviewers have said, expect melt and recovery. They showed up with 3 or 4 stems with a leaf on them. All but one of the leaves/stems melted and the one that didn't melt didn't look very good. But new leaves sprouted at the bottom, and have done nicely since."
