Common Name: Philodendron Minarum
Philodendron Minarum is a tropical specimen that produces large mask-shaped leaves that are primarily green in color. When adequately cared for, this species is a fast grower and will appreciate a stake or moss pole that allows it to climb. Philodendron Minarum is also hardy, making it a great beginner plant and can be grown outdoors or indoors within a container. It should be noted that while hardy, Philodendron are still tropical species and prefer warmer temperatures so it should be brought in during cooler months if temperatures drop below 60F. A well-aerated grow medium that retains moisture is ideal and increased humidity levels and temperatures are preferable for this Philodendron.
Propagation can be done via cuttings as long as the plant has a viable node or growth point. Humidity can be increased through the use of a humidifier, pebble tray or also by placing the plant in an enclosed container that is opened periodically for fresh air flow.
