The Color Guide: How to Read Your Levels
Because CO₂ drops the pH of your water as it dissolves, the indicator solution changes color to tell you exactly where you stand. Note: Readings are not instant. Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for the solution to accurately reflect your current tank levels.
- Blue (Low): Your carbon levels are too low. Your plants may stall out, allowing opportunistic algae to take hold.
- Green (Optimal): The sweet spot! Carbon levels are perfectly sufficient for lush, high-tech plant growth and safe for your livestock.
- Yellow (High): Danger zone. Your CO₂ levels are too high and are posing an immediate risk to your fish and shrimp. Turn down your regulator immediately.
