Blue Mountain Seiryu Stone is a darker, bluish-grey variation of the iconic Seiryu stone. This specific variety features a deep, moody tone accented by striking white veins that provide a visually stunning contrast, especially when paired with vibrant green or red aquatic plants. Its signature craggy texture and intricate details allow any hobbyist to easily create a natural-looking, mountainous hardscape or Iwagumi layout. Blue Mountain Seiryu is also suitable for non-aquarium use and will work beautifully as a sophisticated accent in terrariums, paludariums, or similar planted enclosures.

Stones vary in shape, size, and density. Pieces from packages will range from 3-10 inches.

Notes:

  • Seiryu may slightly raise pH and water hardness. Controsoil can help balance that out.
  • If you are looking for larger stones, a minimum weight may be required. Larger stones = higher weight. Email our team if you need assistance.
  • We recommend rinsing stones thoroughly before use to remove any natural dust or sediment.
  • Stone coloration darkens when wet.

Overall rating: 4.782051 / 5 from 78 reviews.

Q&A

Is the Blue Mountain Seiryu Stone Acid Washed? Also does it leech KH and GH if my water has a PH Of 8 already?? I would like to use it for sulawesi shrimps and want to maybe sure its safe and doesnt mess with Kh and GH parameters
Hello Yu, thank you for your question about the Blue Mountain Seiryu Stone. We appreciate your interest in our products. To address your concerns, please note that the Blue Mountain Seiryu Stone is not acid-washed. While it is not treated, it contains natural components that may affect water chemistry, especially in terms of KH and GH. Given your specific requirements for Sulawesi shrimps and the desire to maintain stable KH and GH parameters, we recommend monitoring the water closely and making adjustments as needed. If you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please feel free email us at support@buceplant.com. Thank you, Team Buce Plant
I’m looking to set up a 29 gallon tank with a ph slightly above neutral (range 7.2-7.4). Will Blue Mountain seiryu stone raise it above this level? If I used Controsoil substrate, would that keep it around neutral? How much would you recommend for a 29 gallon tank?
Hello Cyndi, Thank you for your question. The stone may increase the Ph on your tank. If you're using Blue Mountain Seiryu Stone in your aquarium and notice a pH increase, it's important to monitor the pH regularly to ensure it remains within a suitable range for the aquatic life you intend to keep. Using the Controsoil will help balance out the pH in your tank. A 30lbs order would give you different sizes that you can work with on this 29gallon tank that you have. Hope this information helps. -Team Buce Plant

If you happen to have any pictures of an inspo, we'd be happy to help! Please email us at support@buceplant.com for further assistance. Thank you, Team Buce Plant
Hi! I am a beginner and I have a 10 gal tank for my betta. How many pieces of stones do you get for 2LB pack vs. 10LB pack? I really have no idea, as the stones also ranges in size & want to ask an expert typically how many stones is suitable for a 10 gal fish tank without overcrowding the space. Thanks so much in advance!
Hello Becky, Thank you for the question. Usually, we advise 2 x Tank volume in gallons = Total amount of pounds required. But for your case, we advise for you to get started with the 10lbs order for you to get some better option when scaping your betta tank. Hope this helps. -Team Buce Plant
Hi. I have UNS 5N tank and I'm trying to set up a iwagumi style tank. Will this stone be okay to use it for iwagumi, and will 2lbs pack be okay for my tank ? how many and how big will the stones be in 2lbs package?
Hello Dennis, Thank you for your question. The Blue Mountain Seiryu Stone would be a good Iwagumi Style setup. We would recomend a 5lbs for you to have more options for the look. When you place an order. Feel free to let us know what size you are looking for and we'll let our fulfillment team know. However, please note that this would be based on availability. Kind Regards -Team Buce Plant
