If you are suffering from some serious decision paralysis because you love moss-t of the varieties out there, we've got you covered. Choosing the perfect green companion for your tank can be tough, so we put together this collector's pack to take the guesswork out of the equation! This bundle is a great educational crash course in aquatic botany, allowing you to see firsthand how different species develop. Some will grow in fluffy, horizontal fans, while others will reach straight for the light like flickering green flames. No matter which varieties land on your doorstep, they all serve as fantastic, highly textured play areas where dwarf shrimp and baby fish fry can safely forage and hang out.

Please note: Your five unique varieties will be hand-selected by our team based on our freshest current inventory. We are unable to take requests for specific species, but we promise a beautiful mix!

Choose Your Pack Style

  • The Golfball Pack: You will receive one loose, golfball-sized portion of five different moss species. This option is great if you love the hands-on fun of wrapping, gluing, or tying moss onto your own custom driftwood and rocks.
  • The Stainless Steel Pack: You will receive five different moss species pre-attached to their own individual 3" x 3" stainless steel mesh pads. This option is perfect if you want a plug-and-play setup to create an instant carpet on your tank floor.

With any Aquarium Moss Collector Pack, you will receive at least 5 different types of moss. Examples of what you may receive are:

Christmas Moss Grows in dense, overlapping, triangular fronds that look like miniature pine branches.
Java Moss The ultimate hardy classic; grows in a wild, fast-spreading, and highly versatile fashion.
Flame Moss Grows distinctively upright in spiraling, vertical shoots that mimic flickering green flames.
Peacock Moss Features soft, velvety, fan-shaped fronds that spread out like a peacock's tail.
Spiky Moss Grows long, pointed, needle-like fronds for a sharp and deeply textured look.
Weeping Moss Naturally droops downward, making it look beautiful draped over elevated driftwood.
Fissidens Fontanus (Phoenix Moss) Has incredibly delicate, deep green fronds that resemble soft baby bird feathers.

Care & Planting Instructions

  • Place your stainless steel pads directly on the substrate, or use thread or aquarium-safe glue to secure your loose golfball portions to wood, rocks, or filter pipes.
  • Keep your water parameters stable. While mosses are incredibly hardy, sudden and drastic changes to your tank chemistry can cause them to melt.
  • Give the mosses a light trim with sharp aquascaping shears whenever they start looking a bit wild. Trimming actually encourages them to grow back even thicker!
  • Keep your water cool and clean. While these mosses do great in low-tech setups, adding a little CO2 and quality liquid fertilizer will make their colors pop and speed up their growth.
