Plant Profile

Common Name: Anubias Broad White

Anubias Barteri Broad White is an ultra-rare collector’s gem! Unlike standard green varieties, this farmed mutation boasts broad, creamy white to pale green leaves that are larger than those of Anubias Snow White. If you are looking to turn heads and create a focal point, this white-hot rarity is here to help you pull off an unforgettable aquascape. Its foliage creates an unmatched visual contrast when nested against dark volcanic lava rock, rich Malaysian driftwood, or deep green mosses.

By choosing the Tissue Culture version of this plant, you are guaranteed a 100% pest-free, algae-free, and pesticide-free start for your aquarium. These plants are grown in-vitro in a sterile laboratory setting, ensuring no unwanted snails or hitchhikers enter your system. While these plantlets start smaller and require more time to mature, they offer the cleanest and most reliable method for establishing a healthy colony in planted tanks.

Key Features & Benefits

  • The striking creamy white to pale green broad foliage offers a high-contrast accent that instantly brightens dark hardscape crevices and shadowy tank areas.
  • Larger leaf size compared to Anubias Snow White provides a bolder, more prominent structural presence in your midground layout.
  • The sterile laboratory environment guarantees your new plant arrives completely free of pests.

Care Tips & Preparation

  • Carefully remove the plantlets from the cup and rinse away the sterile nutrient gel under lukewarm, dechlorinated water before mounting. For instructions on how to properly plant tissue culture aquarium plants, click here.
  • Secure the plant directly to your chosen hardscape elements using aquarium-safe glue or thread. Avoid burying the horizontal stem in gravel or soil because restricting water flow around the rhizome will cause the plant to melt, rot, and die.
  • Unlike its green cousins, this sun-seeker lacks heavy chlorophyll! Provide medium to high lighting alongside regular CO2 injection and nutrient dosing to encourage optimal growth and maintain its vivid white leaf coloration.
  • Provide optional carbon dioxide injection to achieve faster growth and more robust leaves.
  • Maintain stable water parameters and avoid sudden environmental shifts to ensure your new greenery acclimates smoothly without shedding leaves.
  • Position the plant in areas with balanced water circulation to keep its slow-growing leaves pristine and free of unwanted algae.
  • Master the prep and planting process by checking out a beginner's guide to tissue culture plants to prevent your delicate new plantlets from melting or floating away.

"I thought I might get 2 or 3 plants from this order, but I ended up with 6! It filled in the spaces I had planned for plus a few more. They’ve been in for 5 days so far and look great. Hopefully I will have the same luck with these as my regular nana types."

Amazing plants

"Very, very pleased with this purchase. I was expecting to get a batch of tissues that had a couple of leaves on them like the ad pictures, what I got was a cup full of rhizomes that were just exploding in leaves. The plants all look incredibly healthy, have wonderful root structures, and just leafy as all heck. I wasn't sure about this when I first bought it, but now I can confidently say that these are well worth the money."
