1. How does Boost Mode work on the Twinstar S Series Vr. V?
Boost Mode is a programmable setting within the LightControl Pro mobile app that temporarily increases the overall PAR output beyond normal maximum operating thresholds. Activating Boost Mode during peak midday hours drives photosynthesis for demanding carpeting plants and high-tech stem layouts.
2. Can I hang the Twinstar S Series Vr. V over my aquarium?
Yes. Larger models in the Vr. V series feature integrated top channels that allow you to attach the Twinstar Wire Kit (sold separately) to suspend the light as an overhead pendant.
3. What makes Spectrum 3.0 different from standard RGB lighting?
Unlike basic RGB fixtures that mix only three color channels, Spectrum 3.0 incorporates a specialized six-color diode configuration. This provides a fuller, continuous spectral output that targets plant chlorophyll absorption peaks while eliminating artificial color shadows in your water column.

If your light ever loses power for any reason it will need to be fully removed and re-added to the app. Otherwise the light has no idea what time it is and will start turning on in the middle of the night. Can't imagine making such a bad product and seeing it through to the end."

"Must have!!!! I’m new to twinstar lights, after many researches online and debating between chihiros and twinstar i decided to go with twinstar! Boy im glad i purchased twinstar the colors are amazing, and for having a 75 gallon 21 deep, this light is POWERFUL i also own 2 fluval 3.0 this one light is stronger than both of them put together. I own a chihiros wrgb ll pro the colors is better on the twinstar and offcourse better price. Im not trying to put down these companies but Twinstar has exceeded my expectations. Another thing ive been in aquascaping for about 9 years now for the first time ever my plants are pearling every single day ever since i added this light. Its so strong i had to lower the brightness down to 70% 😬. If your looking for a powerful light look no further!!!!"

The light itself is great
"The light itself is great and got what I asked for. . . well sort of. While using the app for this light I noticed alot of the features where missing. Twinstar is reportedly saying that the better app features for the pro controller are only available on lights manufactured after February. So paying for the same light but lose out on features because it was manufactured a little too early. Sure hope they download a firmware upgrade, or sellers better start warning people about this."

Great light, but hindered by the App
"I bought a 450s because I had a cheap Amazon light that wasn’t groing my plants enough. Upgraded to the Twinstar Series S Vr 5 and was immediately impressed with the color rendering. It makes all the colors stand out in the tank beautifully and the color controls are easy to use. However it falls short with its timer functionality, and the apps settings never revert back to the default mode when you accidentally make an adjustment to your timer. For instance, the apps Guide has instructions for a feature for a Dual Timer to set an alternate light schedule, but doesn’t show the dual timer for the light. The plant schedule is nice for when you’re trying to slowly ramp up the lights, the colors are impeccable compared to some others, and the app does not need access to Wifi, only Bluetooth. However, having a separate on/off button would be nice as these don’t function without the app. This is for the Pro light controller. I believe if Twinstar updates their app and Firmware, the light is basically unbeatable for the price. Great value for money. But this is a set-it-and-forget-it light. Making fine tune adjustments on the fly may seem easy at first but if you make any mistakes it can be frustrating to have to recalibrate your settings."

Nice Light
"This is a great light for the price. I was debating between this and the Chihiros RGB pro, but went with this based on the price point. Colors really pop-looks more vivid and saturated but not fake. Glad that Twinstar now has Bluetooth control and an app to control these lights. I haven’t had any issues with the app, I wish it had more functionality so the light could gradually decrease from one brightness level to another as the day goes on but this is only possible during the ramp up and ramp down time frame which can be selected to be anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes. Only other con is that the light does not have a shade but I knew this before purchasing. If a shade is really important, maybe go with the Chihiros but I think that both lights would probably give you the same kind of color rendering, this one is a lot less expensive than the Chihiros, however."
