Icelandic Lava Stone

Icelandic Lava Stone is widely considered the holy grail of volcanic rock, offering significantly more detail, density, and character than standard black lava. This natural rock features a deep, dark brown hue when submerged and a highly porous surface. Because of its intricate texture, it is a perfect pick for recreating dramatic, mountainous aquascaping layouts, and its porous nature provides an ideal surface for attaching mosses or housing beneficial nitrifying bacteria. Icelandic Lava Stone is also suitable for non-aquarium use and will work beautifully as a bold accent in terrariums, paludariums, or similar planted enclosures.
